Tekoa-Oakesdale/Rosalia took down Mabton 54-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
DeSales made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,509 from 6,003. The improvement was the result of 48-10 victory over Tri-Cities Prep last week.
The Jaguars' dynamic duo of Evan Whitsett and Mateo Ledesma proved tough for the Irish to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Whitsett threw for 105 yards and one touchdown and Ledesma had 75 yards receiving. Michael Forbes helped Tri-Cities Prep's passing attack out by catching two balls for 34 yards.
Dalton Estes provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Waitsburg/Prescott bested Asotin. He completed one pass for 45 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 244 yards. Estes' favorite target this week was Chance Leroue, who caught four passes for 73 yards.
Forbes made the biggest impact on defense this week as Tri-Cities Prep fell to DeSales. The 5-foot-7 sophomore grabbed two interceptions.
The Cardinals' Sterling Eastman and Estes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 2B Southeast in both passing and receiving yards. Eastman has thrown for 1243 yards this season, while Estes, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 25 catches for 456 yards. Bailey Rivas from Dan Whitsett's team leads the league in rushing with 1000 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Waitsburg/Prescott takes on the Jaguars. As it stands, Jeff Bartlow's team is in first, while Tri-Cities Prep is in fourth.
There should be lots of points scored when the Cardinals and the Jaguars face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Waitsburg/Prescott comes in having scored 272 this season, while Tri-Cities Prep has scored 236. The Cardinals scored 26 points last week as they topped the Panthers.
The Nighthawks led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on the Vikings.
