Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kelby Glaze, who rushed for 81 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Glaze has posted since back in November of 2024. Another passer making a difference was Mekhi Wade, who threw for 149 yards and one TD on perfect 5-for-5 passing.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lincoln County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 340 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 228 rushing yards in nine consecutive contests.
Lincoln County's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Glaze was especially locked on to Greene County's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Randolph-Clay hadn't done well against Miller County recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Friday. The Red Devils came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 46-35. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Lincoln County better keep an eye on Rae'Shawn Clyde. He was instrumental in Randolph-Clay's win, rushing for 213 yards on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 148 yards and one touchdown on only 13 passes.
Lincoln County's record is now 10-0. As for Randolph-Clay, the win got them back to even at 4-4-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Lincoln County has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 252.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Randolph-Clay struggles in that department as they've been averaging 174.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
