The Nokomis Warriors will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Oceanside Mariners at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Nokomis has three straight wins, Oceanside has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Nokomis got the win against Winslow by a conclusive 15-3. Fans of the Warriors have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Owen Menard made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Caden Chretien was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Seth Bowden, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Nokomis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winslow only posted an OBP of .375.
Meanwhile, Oceanside came up short against Camden Hills on Monday, falling 11-4.
Oceanside saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Felix Clines, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Dylan Chiaramonte was another, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Nokomis' victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Oceanside, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Nokomis might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Oceanside in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
