Three Rivers recap September 17, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Tippecanoe Valley, who defeated 191st ranked Tippecanoe Valley, 34-33. Robbie Cole threw for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.
Southwood was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in Three Rivers. The Knights vanquished the Vikings 34-33 earlier in the week.
Tanner Andrews had an awesome week catching the football as Tippecanoe Valley lost to Southwood. He caught 10 passes for 212 yards.
Jacob Casper was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 146 yards on 15 carries as Manchester fell to Dave Snyder's team. Lucas Schilling also contributed to the rushing game with 27 yards on the ground.
Cole put up the best numbers through the air as the Knights bested the Vikings. Cole's favorite target this week was Jake Lloyd, who caught 5 passes for 72 yards.
He was 17-31 with 0 interceptions.
Andrews was the best receiver in the league this week as Tippecanoe Valley lost to Southwood.
Leading Three Rivers in both passing and receiving yards, the Vikings' Ben Shriver and Andrews have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Shriver has thrown for 1,038 yards this season, while Andrews has 26 catches for 622 yards. Nathan Hollars from the Knights leads the league in rushing with 494 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Southwood takes on Rochester. The Knights are currently in third, while the Zebras are in first.
Rochester scaled the state rankings by moving to 157 from 187 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Mike Zehner's team climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Northfield 38-3.
