Maize lost against Northwest back in March of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Saturday. The Maize Eagles took a hard  85-69 fall against the Northwest Grizzlies. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  last Friday (64), the Eagles still had to take the loss.
 Maize lost  despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being   Charles Sharp, who  went 5 of 9  en route to 12  points and six  boards. Another player making a difference was  Alec Grill, who  went 7 for 16  on his way to 18 points and three  steals.
 Northwest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Dj Brown led the charge by  going 11 of 15  en route to 25  points. Brown's afternoon made it three games in a row in which  he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  River Peters, who  went 9 for 11  on his way to 20 points and five  assists.
Maize's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Northwest,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 9-3.
 Maize will be playing at home against Andover Central  at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Maize knows how to get  points on the board -- the  team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Andover Central likes a good challenge. As for Northwest,  it'll be Northside v. Southside when they and South meet  at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Northwest has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
