When it comes to explaining why Atholton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Deion Dent. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. That's the first time this season that Dent scored 15 or more points. Amir Shaheed was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Atholton were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Howard's win was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Atholton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
