The Camden Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 58 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Darlington. While losing is never fun, Camden can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Falcons are ranked 34th).
Camden lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jahmarie Mcleod, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mcleod has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Israel Macklin, who scored 15 points.
Camden's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Darlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Camden and the Bulldogs will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Darlington, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Lake City is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
