Make it six blowout wins for the Thunderbird Titans this season. Everything went their way against Shadow Mountain on Wednesday as Thunderbird made off with a 56-35 win. Given Thunderbird's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Shadow Mountain is ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Thunderbird's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Calcaterra, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Aidan Rampley was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
When it comes to explaining why Shadow Mountain lost, one person who can't be blamed is Pierce Rogers. Despite the final result, he scored seven points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Montfoort, who scored eight points.
Thunderbird's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Shadow Mountain, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
