The Del Valle Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the Austin Maroons at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Del Valle and 11 for the Maroons.
Del Valle pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dripping Springs. Del Valle has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Austin was the victim of a tough 65-43 loss at the hands of the Cavaliers on Friday. While losing is never fun, Austin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 582nd, while the Cavaliers are ranked 13th).
Del Valle has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season. As for Austin, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-20.
Del Valle didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Maroons in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 58-52 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Del Valle since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
