Madison Johnson and Riley Hacker did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson got on base in all three of her plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs, while Hacker went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. With that strong performance, Hacker is now averaging an impressive 1.4 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Kasey Sulc, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Prince George pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.1 runs this season. As for Powhatan, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Powhatan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349.
