Roosevelt hasn't had much luck against School Without Walls recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Roughriders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Penguins at 4:00 p.m.
Eastern hit Roosevelt with a six-run fourth inning two weeks ago, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Roughriders took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ramblers.
Daniel Davis was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Isiah Artilles, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, while School Without Walls put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering. The Penguins blew past the Panthers 22-0. Considering the Penguins have won nine contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Braden Sprinzen, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Tywon King was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
School Without Walls was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The win made it two in a row for School Without Walls and bumps their season record up to 13-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Roosevelt, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
