The Overland Trailblazers waltzed into their contest Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent by a score of 58-48. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Overland has scored all season.
Siraaj Ali was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with four steals. The game was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was TJ Manuel, who scored 15 points.
Overland has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Non Varsity Tournament Opponent, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 45-146 record this season.
Overland will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Chaparral is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Non Varsity Tournament Opponent is on the road again on Wednesday and play against McDermitt on December 27th. Hopefully McDermitt focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Wednesday.
