The Neah Bay Red Devils extended their postseason success on Saturday against the Liberty Christian Patriots. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Patriots 52-20 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Neah Bay who now have nine in a row.
Neah Bay got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jodell Wimberly out in front who rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns. Wimberly has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last nine times he's played. Neah Bay also got a significant boost from Tyler Swan, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 114 yards.
Despite the loss, Liberty Christian still got an impressive performance from Charlie Branning, who rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown. Branning has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last four times he's played.
Neah Bay's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Liberty Christian, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-1.
Neah Bay will face off against Liberty Bell at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Liberty Bell is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Liberty Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
