The Newark Charter School Patriots were the big favorite in their most recent contest, and for good reason. Everything went their way against Red Lion Christian Academy on Tuesday as they made off with a 72-42 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Newark, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
The Patriots started the game off right with 36 first-half points. Red Lion countered with 14 points, leaving the score at 36-14 going into the half. The offense for Newark continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 36 points to put the game away.
The win improved Newark's record to 12-4. The defeat dropped Red Lion's record to 2-16.
Newark will be hunkering down at home again for their matchup against Caravel on Thursday. Caravel is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 64-54 win over Polytech last Thursday. Red Lion is on the road again on Thursday and plays against First State Military Academy. First State Military Academy is looking for a pick-me-up after a 61-33 blowout loss to Archmere Academy.
