The Aliso Niguel Wolverines and the Jurupa Hills Spartans squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Aliso Niguel Wolverines had to settle for second. Aliso Niguel and Jurupa Hills were almost perfectly matched up, but Aliso Niguel suffered an agonizing 28-27 defeat. Aliso Niguel gained 123 more yards on the day, but it was Jurupa Hills that made the best of use of them.
Despite the loss, Aliso Niguel still got an impressive performance from Hunter Najm, who threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns.
Among those leading the charge was Caleb Ruiz, who threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Another reason for the win was Jurupa Hills' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Isiah Lizarraga and Jordan Pernillo who racked up four sacks between them.
Aliso Niguel's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Jurupa Hills, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.
Aliso Niguel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jurupa Hills also has no future games currently scheduled.
