Melvindale won against Romulus on Monday with 20 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Cardinals didn't even let the Eagles on the board, marking the Cardinals' second-straight 20-0 shutout. Considering the Cardinals have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Melvindale's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Romulus, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Melvindale has already played their next matchup, a 12-0 victory against Summit Academy on the 14th. Hopefully Romulus paid attention to the Cardinals' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
