The Dudley Panthers will square off against the Southwest Guilford Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dudley has five straight victories, Southwest Guilford has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Dudley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 41-3 win over Western Guilford. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 26-3.

Dudley's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Michael Boone Jr., who rushed for 154 yards and three scores on only 13 carries, and Brayden Jeffries, who rushed for 65 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries. Jeffries' passing game has become a key predictor of the Panthers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. Flo Kuzimina helped out on the ground, rushing for 92 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dudley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 436 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Dudley's defense and their five sacks. In that department, Saimir Horton was the leader with three. Devin Cotton was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Southwest Guilford played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Page, falling 57-6. The Cowboys were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-6.
Dudley's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Southwest Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Dudley has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 278.5 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Southwest Guilford, though, as they've been averaging only 62 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Dudley took their win against Southwest Guilford in their previous matchup back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 42-21 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Cowboys have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
