The Morningside Academy Eagles will challenge the Geneva Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Morningside Academy comes in on eight and Geneva on five.
Morningside Academy's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Glades Day. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Eagles have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Glades Day's batters probably weren't too happy with Leigha Race, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 15 Ks (she gave up three walks). Race has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Morningside Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabbriella Oliver, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Reghan Wilbur also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Geneva beat The First Academy 10-5 on Thursday.
Emma Bastian was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Chloe Incinelli was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
Geneva kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matches.
Morningside Academy pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Geneva, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Morningside Academy's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's contest. The Eagles have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Geneva, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Morningside Academy continue to outrun the ball? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
