The game between Antelope Valley and Eastside wasn't particularly close, with Antelope Valley falling 56-40. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Antelope Valley of the 48-45 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Antelope Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Archie, who scored 12 points. Kiwan Sims was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Eastside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Carter, who scored 13 points along with nine assists and four steals. That's the first time this season that Carter posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Wydell James, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Antelope Valley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. As for Eastside, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Antelope Valley will take on Highland at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Highland has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 21. As for Eastside, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Palmdale at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th.
