This season hasn't been kind to the Poetry Community Christian Pioneer, who are still winless after their eighth game. They took a serious blow against First Baptist on Friday, falling 69-3. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Poetry Community Christian has scored all season.
First Baptist was led to victory by Meredith Quinn and Emily Kate Jones. Quinn scored 21 points along with seven assists and six rebounds, while Jones scored 30 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Jones is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kolbie Gillispie, who scored seven points along with ten steals.
Poetry Community Christian bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for First Baptist, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-3.
Poetry Community Christian will be playing at home against Heritage Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Heritage Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 43 last Friday. As for First Baptist, they will head out on the road to challenge Trinity School of Texas at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity School of Texas comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
