On Tuesday, the Bingham Miners faced the Riverton Silverwolves in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bingham took down Riverton 75-61. The victory was familiar territory for Bingham who now have three in a row.
Bingham found their leader in underclassman Luke West, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds. West is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Stockton Tueller, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Loss or not, Riverton got some senior leadership from Ben Barrus and Christian Heninger. Barrus scored 18 points along with six rebounds, while Heninger. scored 15 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Heninger scored 15 or more points. Zach Edwards was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Bingham is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Riverton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bingham will take on Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Ridge is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Riverton, they will be playing at home against Herriman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Herriman is ranked ninth, while Riverton is ranked 13th).
