They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 30-23 loss to Macon-East Montgomery Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lakeside School has scored all season.
Macon-East Montgomery Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keagan Roney led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Omarion Wilson, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Lakeside School has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Lakeside School will be playing at home against Chambers Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chambers Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Macon-East Montgomery Academy and Springwood will face off at 12:00 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Springwood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Macon-East Montgomery Academy in Alabama (Springwood is ranked 93rd, while Macon-East Montgomery Academy is ranked 310th).
