The Latta Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They skirted past East Clarendon 56-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Latta has posted yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Latta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amir Rogers, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Rogers is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Jones, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Latta's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11. As for East Clarendon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Latta will square off against Lake View at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Clarendon, they will head out on the road to face off against Scott's Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Scott's Branch is on a three-game streak of home losses, East Clarendon an 11-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
