The Dimmitt Bobcats lost against the Nazareth Swifts back in December of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Dimmitt fell 48-37 to Nazareth. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dimmitt in their matchups with Nazareth: they've now lost five in a row.
Dimmitt's loss came despite strong showings from Frankie Cortez and Enrique Holguin. Cortez scored 11 points along with five steals, while Holguin scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for him.
Dimmitt has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Nazareth, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dimmitt and Dumas will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Dumas' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matchups. Nazareth will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Spearman at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th.
