Even though the Dwyer Panthers have not done well against the Seminole Ridge Hawks recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Dwyer secured a 62-57 W over Seminole Ridge. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Dwyer can attribute much of their success to Katie Nash, who scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amy Manzano, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
The victory got Dwyer back to even at 4-4. As for Seminole Ridge, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dwyer will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jupiter at 7:30 p.m. on January 16, 2024. Seminole Ridge will be home for the holidays to greet Royal Palm Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Royal Palm Beach is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
