The San Ramon Valley Wolves and the Pittsburg Pirates squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the San Ramon Valley Wolves had to settle for second. They took a 37-21 bruising from the Pirates. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for San Ramon Valley in their matchups with Pittsburg: they've now lost three in a row.
Luke Baker threw for 251 yards and two touchdowns. Owen Scott was his top target, picking up 141 receiving yards. On the ground, Matthew Garibaldi rushed for 63 yards.
Jamar Searcy had an outrageously good game for Pittsburg as he rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Marley Alcantara was another key player, having thrown for 317 yards and onetouchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Pittsburg's defense and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jewelous Walls and Joshua Dollarhide-watson who racked up four sacks between them.
San Ramon Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Pittsburg, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
San Ramon Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pittsburg will head out on the road to face off against Folsom at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Folsom: 17.2, Pittsburg: 15.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
