The Union Grove Wolverines put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 57-49 victory over Veterans. Given Union Grove's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Veterans is ranked 110th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Nadea Smith, who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Union Grove's points. Alexis Parson was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals.
Union Grove's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Veterans, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Union Grove is on the road again on Saturday and play against McEachern at 5:30 p.m. on November 25th. As for Veterans, they will square off against Carver at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Carver knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Veterans likes a good challenge.
