Hailey Schmidt made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jaeda Tucker was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Addilyn Watts, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Ooltewah kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Ooltewah's record is now 7-3. As for Harriman, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Ooltewah wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Tellico Plains on the 22nd. As for Harriman, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-11 win against Greenback on the 25th.
