The Blountstown Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Vernon 69-29 at home. The victory was some much needed relief for Blountstown as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Blountstown found their leader in underclassman Cyion Smith, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryheem Washington, who scored four points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
The victory got Blountstown back to even at 7-7. As for Vernon, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.
Blountstown won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chipley at 6:45 p.m. on January 12th. As for Vernon, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Baker at 6:00 p.m.
