The John Paul II Golden Warrriors stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 62-40 margin over Cross Schools. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory John Paul II has posted yet this season.
Brady Mahoney was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Lily Termini was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Cross Schools' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Mayers, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Mayers hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was PJ Benson, who scored nine points along with five assists and four steals.
Cross Schools struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as John Paul II racked up 17 assists.
John Paul II has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Cross Schools, their loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.
