The Combs Coyotes's three-game losing streak came to an end on Monday. They came out on top against Tempe by a score of 60-53. That's another feather in the cap for Combs, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Combs got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaimin Amador out in front who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Amador is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Logan Tuckfield was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Tempe's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ja'michael Keeton, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and three steals. Keeton is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Arthur Murphy, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Combs' win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Tempe, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-13.
Combs will take on Arizona College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tempe, they will head out on the road to challenge Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Coronado is ranked 215th, while Tempe is ranked 235th).
