Even though the Western Indians scored an imposing 59 points on Saturday, the Peebles Indians still came out on top. Peebles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-59 win over Western. The win made it back-to-back wins for Peebles.
Despite the loss, Western still got an impressive performance from Kam Janes, who scored 23 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. The contest was Janes' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Drew Haggy was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with 5 rebounds.
Peebles' win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Western, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Peebles will head out on the road to face off against Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Western will be home for the holidays to greet Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday.
