After a string of three wins, the Kofa Kings's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cibola. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Kofa of the 75-42 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Kofa lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Devin Diaz, who scored ten points along with five assists and two steals. Calvin Barber was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Kofa's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Cibola, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.
Kofa will head out on the road to challenge Copper Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Copper Canyon is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Cibola will take on Yuma at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Yuma is ranked 128th, while Cibola is ranked 111th).
