The Fuquay - Varina Bengals's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past Corinth Holders with points to spare, taking the game 48-34. For Fuquay - Varina, this counts as revenge for the 46-34 defeat Corinth Holders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Chloe Webb went supernova for Fuquay - Varina, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Webb scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiya Holland, who scored nine points.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kamea Davis, who scored 14 points along with three steals and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Darla Lee, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Fuquay - Varina's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Corinth Holders, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fuquay - Varina will take on Cleveland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cleveland is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Corinth Holders, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southeast Raleigh at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
