Canen Cooper of East Central ran for the longest rushing play in 5A Region 4 this season against Pascagoula last week. Cooper scampered for 71 yards on the play and finished with 171 on the day as his team lost to the Panthers.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Picayune beat Long Beach 49-12. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Maroon Tide.
Picayune's dynamic duo of Boderick Scott and Alex Aaron proved tough for the Bearcats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Scott threw for 136 yards and Aaron had 53 yards receiving. Dalton Hedgepeth helped Picayune's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 37 yards.
Cooper was a passing and rushing force as East Central lost to Pascagoula.
Lewis sims' team's Andrew Dunn and Matthew Eaton have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-5 quarterback Dunn has thrown for 802 yards this season, while Eaton has 23 catches for 319 yards. Preston Dedeaux from Dodd Lee's team leads the league in rushing with 875 yards.
The top two teams in 5A Region 4 will face off this week when first place Pascagoula takes on second place Picayune. The Panthers topped Seth Smith's team last week, while the Maroon Tide beat Long Beach.

Picayune took down Bo Vonderbruegge's team 49-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dedeaux ran for 119 yards during the win.
