The Hauser Jets will head out to face off against the Brownstown Central Braves at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hauser will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
On Thursday, Hauser made easy work of North Decatur and carried off an 11-1 victory. Fans of the Jets have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Stryker Gill made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Hauser let Lukas Christian and Dillion Lambert run wild. Christian went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Lambert went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Christian a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Bennett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Hauser was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Brownstown Central came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 5-2.
Dalton Reedy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits.
On the hitting side, Lane Steward was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Jaxson Johnson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Brownstown Central's record is now 4-1. As for Hauser, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hauser has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Brownstown Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Hauser suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Brownstown Central when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Jets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
