In what's become a running theme this season, the Trinity Prep Lions gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past HALO 82-59. The victory was familiar territory for Trinity Prep who now have three in a row.
Trinity Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ace Stevens led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Stevens continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Harvey, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
Despite the loss, HALO still got an impressive performance from Trenton Grissom, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Grissom hasn't dropped below two steals for 17 straight games. Another player making a difference was Jordan Moody, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Trinity Prep's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for HALO, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Prep will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Peachtree Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday. As for HALO, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Georgia (Covington Academy is ranked 530th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 520th).
