On Monday, David Anderson made easy work of Leetonia and carried off a 20-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won nine in a row.
Kamryn Peruchetti made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Lexi Roush was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Aria Reckner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
David Anderson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leetonia only posted a batting average of .200.
Meanwhile, Toronto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 13-1 to River.
Toronto saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arianna Highsmith, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Toronto's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for David Anderson, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.
