Meanwhile, Edgewood stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Chisum 55-28 at home. Given Edgewood's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Mustangs are ranked 689th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Blair McPherson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Edgewood's points. Another player making a difference was Kassidy Paul, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Grand Saline has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-12 record this season. As for Edgewood, they pushed their record up to 23-8 with that victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.
Things could have been worse for Grand Saline, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-28 loss to the Bulldogs in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Paul, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
