This season hasn't been kind to the Clay Panthers, who are still winless after their fifth game. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 50-27 walloping at the hands of Southeastern on Friday. Clay lost against Southeastern in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 56-41 score last time.
Southeastern was led to victory by Carter Fisher and Dylan Gowan. Fisher scored nine points along with five rebounds, while Gowan scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Joey Pfieffer, who scored four points.
Clay's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Southeastern, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clay will take on Oak Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Hill is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Southeastern, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Zane Trace at 7:15 p.m.
