Brookhaven Academy is 0-5 against Jackson Academy since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Brookhaven Academy Cougars are on the road again and play against the Jackson Academy Raiders at 8:00 p.m. on December 14th.
Last Friday, Brookhaven Academy came up short against Lamar and fell 58-50.
Meanwhile, Jackson Academy put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Heritage Academy and snuck past 58-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Mike Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Jackson Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Gaitor, who scored 10 points.
Brookhaven Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Jackson Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Brookhaven Academy was dealt a bruising 72-44 loss at the hands of Jackson Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2022. Can Brookhaven Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
