Syracuse and the Jackrabbits are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Syracuse Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Greeley County Jackrabbits at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Syracuse has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Syracuse's strategy against the Panthers on Tuesday. Syracuse put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 68-42 win. Given Syracuse's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 66th in Kansas, while the Panthers are ranked 261st in Colorado), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Greeley County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They lost to Decatur Community on the road by a decisive 52-37 margin.
Syracuse's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Greeley County, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Syracuse came up short against the Jackrabbits in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 73-64. Thankfully for Syracuse, Jaxson Brandl (who almost dropped a double-double on 32 points and nine rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
