After flying high against Jackson North Side last Friday, McNairy Central came back down to earth. The McNairy Central Bobcats had to suffer through a 69-29 loss at the hands of the Jackson South Side Hawks. The Bobcats have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Jackson South Side was led to victory by Jaidynn Askins and Ri'Kiya Mitchell. Askins went 8 of 11 on her way to 20 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals, while Mitchell dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards. Mitchell continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Mikayla Newble was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.
McNairy Central's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Jackson South Side, their victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-2.
