The Eagle Rock Eagles will square off against the Venice Gondoliers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Eagle Rock comes in on nine and Venice on 17.
Eagle Rock is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Verdugo Hills 5-4. Five seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Marcella Terrazas made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and two doubles.
In other batting news, Delylah Rodriguez was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Julyssa Castellon was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Venice was able to grind out a solid victory over Chatsworth on Wednesday, taking the game 7-2.
Violet Ascencio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 11 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sandy Carrera, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Venice's win bumped their record up to 22-7. As for Eagle Rock, their victory bumped their record up to 18-7.
Eagle Rock might still be hurting after the 14-3 defeat they got from Venice when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
