The Gibbon Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 72-23 loss at the hands of Centura. Gibbon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-14.
Despite the loss, Gibbon had strong showings from Brooke Sell, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Claire Clark, who scored six points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Kyra Wooden, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists for Centura. That's the first time this season that Wooden posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Davis, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Gibbon's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Centura, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.
Gibbon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Giltner at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Giltner is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Centura won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Centennial at 4:30 p.m. on January 20th.
