The Warren County Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 56-47 to Vance County. If Warren County hoped to take revenge for the 48-45 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Warren County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Bolton, who scored nine points along with seven assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tony Henderson, who scored 13 points.
Warren County's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-8. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Vance County, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren County will face off against Northwest Halifax at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vance County, they will head out on the road to face off against Durham School of the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Durham School of the Arts focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Wednesday.
