Basketball Recap: North Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

North extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Kailen Parks. The North Eagles took down the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans 61-45 on Tuesday thanks in part to Parks, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 11 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of North's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Dianne Hosey, who posted 13 points and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Ridge Spring-Monetta saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ny'Asia Young went 7 of 10 on her way to 14 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Ligons, who had 12 points.

North's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

North will be playing in front of their home fans against Horse Creek Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they will challenge Hunter-Kinard-Tyler at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hunter-Kinard-Tyler's defense has only allowed 23.2 points per game this season, so Ridge Spring-Monetta's offense will have their work cut out for them.
