Warren County has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Friday. They will challenge the Glenn Hills Spartans at 8:00 p.m. Glenn Hills took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Warren County, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Warren County took their match at home with ease, bagging a 80-21 win over Taliaferro County. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-8.
Warren County's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Cosa Pender, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 steals, and Torossie Leslie, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 0 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Leslie has scored at least 25% of Warren County's points. Jamar Jones was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Glenn Hills, who are still winless after their fifth game. They were dealt a 81-38 defeat at the hands of Academy of Richmond County on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Glenn Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 429th, while Academy of Richmond County is ranked 53rd).
Warren County's win lifted them to 2-0 while Taliaferro County's defeat dropped them down to 1-7.
Warren County beat Glenn Hills 57-49 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Warren County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
