The Victoria East Titans had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 51 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They really took it to Corpus Christi Moody for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-0 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Victoria East, who have now won four matches by 36 points or more so far this season.
Nijahrell Prater continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 100 yards and four touchdowns. Prater's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards. Another player making a difference was Jaden Williams, who rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Victoria East is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Corpus Christi Moody, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Victoria East will head out on the road to face off against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Victoria East likes a good challenge. As for Corpus Christi Moody, they will be playing in front of their home fans against King at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. King is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
