The Dolores Bears were the 75-17 winner over the Sangre de Cristo Thunderbirds when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Dolores fell just short of Sangre de Cristo by a score of 44-41.
Dolores' loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Mark Palate and Koby McClellan. Palate scored 17 points, while McClellan scored 8 points along with 4 steals. The game was Palate's third in a row with at least ten points.
Dolores now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Sangre de Cristo, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Dolores is on the road again on Saturday and play against Center at 4:20 p.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully Center focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Friday. As for Sangre de Cristo, they will head out on the road to face off against Sargent at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
